What is High Loft Fleece?

Polartec High Loft has the largest warmth to weight ratio of all Polartec fleeces. This is accomplished by trapping warm body heat within the air pockets between the lofted fibers. The yarns themselves are hydrophobic so they do not absorb moisture, making a fleece that allows moisture vapour to escape during exertion and will dry quickly when washed/wet. High Loft has a very soft hand and begs to be made into cozy garments or blankets/throws. There are many different styles within the High Loft category. Most of them have a nap so care should be taken during pattern placement to ensure the nap is going in the same direction in all pieces.

Style 4206 (Brown Seconds) 60" wide, 9.8 oz/sqyd | 332 gsm, 2-way stretch: 60% side-to-side. Extreme Warmth. **Brown seconds has an irregular loft on the face. Silver seconds have an irregular loft on the wrong side/back.

Style 4208 (Dragon Pink) 66" wide, 6.7 oz/sq yd | 227 gsm, 2-way stretch: 85% side-to-side. Mid Warmth.

Style 4223 (Gothic Violet Seconds, Midnight Grey Seconds) 68" wide, 7.2 oz/sqyd | 244 gsm, 2-way stretch: 65% side-to-side. Extreme Warmth. **So far we have not found any flaws in these colourways.

Style 4251 (Stellar Blue Seconds) 64" wide, 7.3 oz/sqyd | 247 gsm, 4-way stretch: 60% side-to-side 15% lengthwise. Midwarmth Honeycomb look high loft. Stellar Blue has no obvious flaws yet.

Style 4304 (Black Seconds) 58" wide, 8.8 oz/sqyd | 300 gsm, 2-way stretch: 25% side-to-side. **Black seconds looks ok so far. This is a low pile high loft.

Trial Style Raschel Knit (Camo): 66" wide, 8.8 oz/sqyd | 300 gsm, 4-way stretch: 40% side-to-side 5% lengthwise. NOTE: There is a faint 1" line running lengthwise, about 24" up from one selvedge.
