Polartec PowerShield is the original soft shell fabric technology that combined breathable comfort with high performance weather resistance.  This family of  fabric styles has a nylon or polyester face that is water repellent, wind resistant and durable. The interior is finished with an insulating layer of fleece (high loft, classic or micro). This fabric blocks 98% of the wind while allowing some air movement for increased breathability. Power Shield Midweight can be described as "classic soft shell" as it combines the durable outer fabric with a low pile velour or grid fleece back.  Within this section, we have two 'warmths', warm and warmer, as some fabrics have a slightly thicker microfleece backs than others.  Garments made from midweight Power Shield function well in spring, fall and winter as they can be worn over a light base layer or over a base and insulating layer. Most of our styles feature 4-way stretch for ease of movement.
