Polartec PowerShield Pro was designed to enhance the strength and performance abilities of Polartec's original soft shell technology even further. By re-engineering the 3-layer fabric they developed an even stronger balance between warmth and breathability while drastically increasing the inherent ability to repel water, wind and snow.  Add to this a microporous membrane that easily vents excess heat and moisture vapour and you have an incredibly functional soft shell. This reinforced adaptable protective fabric has raised the overall performance benchmark of soft shells to higher levels. Lightweight Power Shield Pro is so crazy-light you won't believe it! Technically, it's not a soft shell; it was intended to be a face fabric utilizing Polartec Alpha Direct insulation, but we've used it alone to make a super-light travel jacket that packed up to almost nothing.  The face of the fabric is woven ripstop nylon and the back of the fabric is the polyurethane film.
