Perfect for outdoor activities, these shorts or zip-leg pants are versatile and practical.  With this sewing pattern you can choose either -- both have an inner leg gusset for a comfortable fit, two roomy cargo pockets in front, and two back pockets with flaps and hidden zipper.  A lanyard with a key hook inside one of the front pockets makes these extra useful.  The Zip-leg pants have the lower leg zip on and off for comfort and convenience.  A back zipper in the leg makes it easy to pull the leg off or on over boots or shoes.  A hook and loop tab tightens the bottom cuff when needed.  It is easy to remove the bottom leg or add it back when needed for weather or practicality.

Suggested Fabrics:
Supplex (Taslan) Nylon Woven or Stretch Woven fabrics.

Notions:
Polyester thread, two 7 (18cm) pocket zippers, two 9" non-separating zippers, one 7 (18cm) non-separating zipper, 7/8 yd (.8m) 1 (2.5cm) woven elastic  1/2 yd (.46m) 3/4 (2cm) hook and loop, two one way separating zippers.  S=24 (61cm); M/L=26 (66cm), XL-3XL=28 (71cm).

Note: non-separating zippers are most economical when using zipper by the yard. Cut the length you need, and purchase matching zipper sliders.
