What is Clear Elastic Used For?

Clear elastic is often used in sewing when you need a stretchy material that blends seamlessly with the fabric, especially for garments like swimsuits, lingerie, or dresses where you don’t want the elastic to show. It's nearly invisible once sewn in.  It’s commonly used in necklines, shoulder seams, waistbands, and sleeve hems, or even in gathered sections like ruching. 

Clear polyurethane elastic in three widths: 

• 5 mm (3/16") wide and .12mm thick
• 6 mm (1/4") wide and 0.20mm thick
• 10 mm (3/8") wide and 0.30mm thick
