Fishbone hemming tape is the professional's trick for achieving smooth, rolled hems on chiffon, silk, organza, gauze, and other delicate fabrics that slip and shift under the presser foot. Simply tear the tape to your desired width, align it with the fabric edge, sew, flip, and remove — what's left is a clean, precise hem that would be nearly impossible to achieve freehand on lightweight or slippery material. It works beautifully on both straight and curved edges, making it ideal for ruffles, spiral hems, and circular skirt hems where other guides fall short. Video here:

One yard goes a long way, because unlike disposable notions, fishbone tape is reusable — just peel it away after sewing and it's ready for your next project. Use it anywhere a fine fabric deserves a fine finish.
Fabric ID tape label dimensions - Width 46mm x Length 120mm. Fabric ID Tape Roll - 30m (approx. 250 labels). Recommended Usage - Attach to selvedge edge of fabric, a corner, or scrap piece. Can be used with ball point pen, pencil and permanent marker.
How to Use a Hump Jumper:
Approach the Hump: Sew until you reach the thick seam, then stop with the needle down into the fabric.
Insert the Tool: Lift the presser foot and place the hump jumper behind the needle, underneath the rear of the presser foot to make it level.
Choose Thickness: Use the thicker or thinner end of the jumper to match the height of your seam.
Sew Across: Lower the presser foot and slowly sew over the thick area.
Remove and Reposition: Once the presser foot is completely over the hump and sitting flat on the other side, stop with the needle down. Lift the presser foot to remove the tool.
Optional - Descending: You can also place the tool in front of the presser foot to keep it level while coming off a thick hump, preventing the foot from diving forward
