The Skyline Dress is about to be your new go-to garment. The breezy, comfortable design includes a tiered-or-not skirt, pockets (duh), and adjustable straps finished in a bow. Depending on how loosely you tie your straps, the Skyline can transform from a standout standalone to the ultimate layering piece. Not to mention the dozens of ways you can customize your dress.
For this pattern, I recommend woven cotton or linen with a moderate or fluid drape between 3-7 oz per square yard. Stiffer fabrics with a voluminous drape can be used, but they may result in a “poofier” garment. Fabrics with a lot of stretch or a loose weave like gauze are not recommended, as they can make the binding construction quite tricky.
