Style Falcon sewing patterns are thoughtfully designed for women in midlife and beyond, making it easier to create a handmade wardrobe that feels comfortable, flattering, and true to your personal style.

Style Falcon patterns are drafted using proportions that differ from the traditional youthful hourglass block commonly used in commercial patterns, offering another fit option for sewists whose bodies are better suited to these proportions.

This includes:

• Little bust-to-waist definition

• Lower bust points, for a “C” to “D” cup

• More room at the tummy, hip and sleeve bicep

• Center-back seams, with rounded back and forward shoulder shaping

• For people about 5’4” (about 163 cm)

About the Daring Duster

Get ready to swish! The Daring Duster brings the drama with a clever split back and side vents for maximum liftoff. The Daring Duster also features a back double yoke, pockets, and two options to make a long straight-cut gilet vest or jacket.

Always hot? Try View A - it's a straight-cut long vest with bound edges and patch pockets. Or opt for View B - a more tailored jacket look, with side seam pockets, a collar and vented cuffed sleeves.

Either way, you’ll add a layer of fabulousness to any outfit.

Fabric Choices

Choose lightweight woven fabrics that look good on both sides, so you'll look great from any angle - especially walking away! Lawn, shirting, poplin, seersucker and crepe are ideal, or try sheers such as organza and lace. See the materials charts for everything sewers need to make this pattern.

Pattern and Instructions Formats

The Daring Duster comes in three layered .pdf formats - A0, A4 and Letter. The A0 files are on three sheets of paper, with View B's cuff and sleeve on the third page. The A4 and Letter formats are on 40 and 41 pages with the View B sleeve, cuff, inseam pocket and collar at the end of the file.

Instructions are offered in standard print and large-print formats for accessibility. All measurements are provided in Imperial and metric units. The pattern and its instructions are in English.
