Wool Coating

This lovely wool blend is thin but warm. It is perfect for blankets and coats. This is a one-time purchase and cannot be replenished. The face has a lovely feel with a slight nap, so keep that in mind when laying out pattern pieces! The fabric is soft and does not wrinkle easily.  Having said this, we noticed some pressure wrinkles when removing from the large rolls, but they steamed out easily.

The washing instructions from the mill recommend Dry Clean...but we are living in the danger zone so we washed it on warm, and put it in the dryer before laying out our pattern. It did not shrink noticeably but we noticed a significant smell when wet that was not there before washing. After drying the smell was not strong and a good airing would make it disappear, but we feel the recommendation to dry clean is a good one. We also felt that washing fluffed the face somewhat.

For extra warmth, this can be insulated with PrimaLoft, Alpha or Polartec Fleece Lining. It can also be lined with Aerospace Tech or Heat-Reflective lining, both of which are very smooth.
