519 – Kid's Cold Weather Hood Pattern

This detachable hood pattern can be used to make a warm lined hood for children that can be conveniently attached with velcro to any existing jacket. Make a lined waterproof hood that has a drawstring, or a fleece hood with bound edges. The fleece hood can also be worn as a helmet liner. The front attaches at the throat with velcro. Add it to any coat or jacket that you made or that is ready-to-wear. Perfect addition to our patterns: 114 Children's Jogging Suit or 509 Kid's Polar Jacket.
Suggested Fabric:
Lined Hood - Outer fabric: waterproof, waterproof breathable, or water repellent fabric; Fleece Fabric: Polartec 200.
Fleece Hood - Fleece fabric: Polartec 200, 300, or Windpro Stretch; Stretch binding: 4-way stretch nylon/lycra binding or fold over elastic (FOE).
Notions:
Polyester thread
Lined Hood: 1/3 yd (.3m) 3/4 (2cm) velcro, 1-1/4 yd (1.2m) 1/8" shock cord, two small cord locks.
Fleece Hood: 1/4 yd (.23m) 3/4 (2cm) velcro.
