Glov-itts are fingerless gloves with mitten-like covers. And you can make them, as well as fingerless gloves with this sewing pattern. Fingerless Gloves provide warmth and agility for activities in cool weather. Glov-itts give an additional level of protection for cold weather, plus convert to let you use your fingers when needed. A velcro tab holds overmitt out of the way when not used. These are great for making gifts!
Suggested Fabrics:
Fleece: Polartec 200, Microfleece, or knit fabric with crosswise stretch.
Palm Protector: Cordura or Tough Tek
Binding (Glov-itts only): Nylon/lycra 4-way stretch binding or fold over elastic (FOE)
Fleece and binding fabric must have crosswise stretch (of about 30%) for proper sizing.
Fabric Requirements:
60 (150cm) wide fabric, Glov-itts - Fleece (1 pair): 3/8 yd (.34m); Fleece (2 or 3 pairs): 3/4 yd (.7m); Palm Protector: 1/8 yd (.12m); Binding: 1/8 yd (.12m).
60 (150cm) wide fabric, Fingerless Gloves - Fleece (1 or 2 pairs): 1/4 yd (.23m); Palm Protector: 1/8 yd (.12m).
Notions:
2" (5cm) 3/4 (2cm) velcro, thread.
